Basically,
yes he can!
However it is very valuable - and so there is a risk that you might lose it -
occasionally there are sections in the books where you lose your weapon,
it gets broken, etc etc ..... if your only weapon is the Sommerswerd,
then you just lost a national treasure and present from the gods! Doh!
Also in some books, using the Sommerswerd will alert evil enemies
to your presence, cos it exudes an aura of goodness.......
