Not that it matters hugely, but personally I'd prefer: "Note down your lost possessions elsewhere in case you find them later." I think it's less ambiguous what is meant.
(Section 154) Added "You may purchase any of the above and in any quantity you desire, although you are limited by the number of items you can carry in your Backpack."Given this, I'd argue that the footnote is unnecessary.
Actually, the footnote is probably still necessary (unless we simply copy the Mongoose edition) in making clear that you may purchase multiples of each potion-type (i.e. we reword the footnote to state the opposite!) as this is not readily apparent.
