I was tellin Chris a little about this but ok so right now we have a starfield in the void that is made by using a skybox (a box with textures on the inside of it that look like distant features). anyhow, our game renders in 2 passes, the skybox pass and then the world pass. our "skybox" rendering isn't limited to sky boxes. We could make sky domes, or sky spheres. We could make a sky sphere where stars are painted on the inside and the sphere rotates over time (either slowly or quickly) But... we aren't limited to simple geometry. we can put planets out there, complex scenes, animated scenes, all sorts of stuff. like how in smash bros they have complex stuff goin on out there in skybox land like lava and volcanos, or space ships flyin around, we can do that kinda stuff too. Just FYI so you guys know more about the options available!
