Yeah I read bambi, crazy book and really easy to read. I really enjouyed it (you recommended it to me :) Disney originally was all about innovation. Remember when those first couple movies came out, they told stories that regular live action had no way of doing - massive dragons, whales, puppets etc. I really highly recommend reading roger eberts review of pinoccio in his great films list... Super insightful. Disney unfortunately has been turned into a brand where they are all about $$$$$$$ but man, it their day it was pretty awesome. :P *cue walt disney rising from the cryochamber to exact his revenge* Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile -----Original Message----- From: Alan Wolfe <alan.wolfe@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 15 Jun 2009 14:38:41 To: <project1dev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [project1dev] Re: new monkey island games I wonder if disney's original motive was to get the kids interested in the stories by giving them a "teaser" via cartoon movie so then they'd go read the books. if so, now disney just hijacks a story, rewrites it and calls it good i guess... btw anyone ever read bambi? it's basically the same story as sidhartha, but with animals instead of people lol. it's also only like 200 pages, a small paperback, not a big hulking book like you'd think :P On Mon, Jun 15, 2009 at 2:29 PM, <figarus@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I kinda liked the movies :P but yeah, they were clearly derivative of > monkey island (particularly the first two) they should have thanked the > monkey island devs for the inspiration.
