sorry, didnt finish that before i hit send, anyways, animating in milkshape is pretty easy and we havent gotten into complex animations yet

FBX is one of max's default extensions. However, I've had a world of issues with FBX ;) tho 2010 does have some good compatability modes for doing so. 3ds would be the better intermediary I suppose, I've also found an milkshake to max importer/exporter. Will test it out later, the main issue with it is you can't export any animations with it yet, so minor detail >.> but in terms of going back in forth with static props could be ok.
