I concur with Alan, this is really amazing Kent :)

It's too damn cute to see them all hopping around and slowly backing
away from you.. haha.

Ok, as for input: I would lower the chance for them to hop around,
since the way you have it now, they are usually close to each other,
which makes them all hop most of the time.  Everything seems to be
working ok though.

By the way, what is the "play" state?  I scanned your script to see
what's going on under the hood, and I'm not sure what that one does.
