would it be cool if our transparent objects didn't have shadows on them?

With the kind of shadows we are using it seems like either we can cast
shadows on transparent objects OR we can see shadows through
transparent objects but not both.

i think being able to see shadows through transparent objects is the
right choice (cause of glass windows, being able to look in at a
shadowy room) but what do you think?
