good luck getting that to work. But again, what runs in 2005 should run in 2008. i think your going through a ton of trouble--more than you really need to. Especially if the web install doesn't work.

   HI.
well, what a pity then, that there is no conversion tool, and do not have
time to go back and convert my project and then recreate them, that would
take about 100 hours, and i do not have the time.
okay, will just have to maybe, get infane to get vs 2005, and will install
it, then change it to dot net frame work 2.0 from another friend on another
list, who told me the steps to do that.
okay, got the other examples and in class exercises on the cd, just then
copy it over the current files, and once got 2005 then can run and compile,
and then debug.
sorry for my long post just had to explian.
will be shorter from now on.
sorry about that.
okay, for my chapter book examples, exercises and case studies, will do in
vb dot net 2008, and for the in class exercises and the practice test and
assignments, vs 2005, hope they install to separate folders,
cheers Marvin.

marvin,
your message was... rather longish, but...
2008 will convert from 2005, but you can't convert from 2008 to 2005.

       Hi.
well, gmail can handle up to i think almost 6 or 7 gb space on the
account,
and no problems downloading or sending files.
so send it to me.
also, need visual web developer 2005 express as well.
and got sql server 2005 express, but wonder if you also have visual c++
express 2005, and j ++.
might as well have the lot, and also have got dot net framework 23.5, with
the cd.
and did not have internet access at the time, so my adaptive tech
specialist, could only find visual studio 2008 express and sent it on a
cd.
now need 2005.
and now my other question, as i do not have a spare 100 hours to rebuild
all
my chapter books exercises, examples and case studies, over 40, is there a
tool to convert from 2008 to 2005, and also all of my other in class
exercises would not work for some of the reasons, no application file in
some, did not like the my computer reference for my audio, did not like
the
sql table adaptor reference.... yada! yada! yada! you get the general
drift.
and now, need to do a practice test, which i have on my hard disk, and
will
be taking a test in a few weeks, mid to end of november or beginning of
december to pass the class.
and now, also need to go and fix my assignment application, so might need
your help in repositioning of some of the buttons, once i go and fix that,
some fields missing data, and can do that my self, a form missing, so can
go
and add that back in code.
and did hand up the assignment back in june, but got a bit corrupted on my
flash drive and the cd which i backed up.
the application is a database application, where you login as a user or
admin, have navigation buttons, these are missing, except for the save
button, and some fields are missing data, only saying the name of the
field.
like phone number, etc instead of putting the field contents, and a access
database, then you click on the close button, and click yes, and a second
form supposed to show, and a about box, data grid, and a exit button, all
the forms are showing up in the project and solutions explorer, but when i
run it it is missing.
so will go and fix that one.
but will have to add buttons, and got the code already there, so not sure
why mu application got srewed up.
okay, that's my problem, and so, hopefully can get a pass, no hope of
getting a distinction or credit, as i then moved interstate in Australia,
and so getting a extension to complete this subject externally, and then
will do the final test at a training organisation in devonport, tasmania,
Australia.
thought i would just explian my self.
okay see what you can do.
cheers Marvin.

Hi.
got a whole heap of examples, for my programming class, exercises,a nd
did
them in vb dot net 2005.
but converted them to all vb dot net 2008, but some of them are not
working
and got errors.
did e-mail my lecturer, and he says, that the book they are using in
class
is for vb dot net 2005, and i am using 2008.
so, where can i download vb dot net 2005 express, and also is there a
conversion utility to convert from vb.dot net 2008 to 2005, as a whole of
a
lot of exercises i did for the chapter book examples and some of the
exercises and case studies, in vb dot net 2008, and do not have time to
go
and recreate them in vb dot net 2005, if i can get my hands on a copy?
have tried searching on google, and went to the msdn site, but tried
looking, but cannot find any thing at all.
got any ideas?
cheers Marvin.
