Jeff:

YahooGroups requires captias, & there is no audio option. WebVisum can
solve these, but using firefox may be problematic for some. Believe
this or not, my experience is that NVDA actually does a better job
w/firefox than jaws. Don't know about W E.

I have a creative writing group on googlegroups & I've had some
members complain about not getting mail, etc., but I can't seem to
find any reason for this & suspect their ISP (comcast) rather than
GMail. The sign up process for googlegroups is quite straightforward,
as it has an audio captia, but I prefer using webvisum for it instead.

Webvisum requires an invitation from another user of the program, as
they have been spammed for their captia-solving abilities, though I've
heard that recently u can go to the home page & request an invitation
code w/o an invite. I don't know if that's accurate. U don't have to
have a gmail account to be in a google group, though you'll need 1 to
use its web interface. I think it's pretty much the same w/yahoo as
well.

I can't say either google or yahoo groups support is great cuz it
isn't. B4 WebVisum, Yahoo never got back to me regarding captias I
couldn't solve, & googlegroups basically sends automated emails in
response to queries. So, I guess we get what we pay for lol.

Good luck w/it all.

I like google and yahoo a lot better.
I can also give you a mailman account on my host if that would help, too.

  Hello Everyone,

OK, sit back and take a deep breath.

As usual, Freelists support has been shall I say not very helpful.

Apparently, all three accounts that I have moderated messages going to are
not working (one gmail, one personal domain and one university account).
Also, Freelists support states that the messages can not be resent.

For this reason, messages sent earlier today will not be seen by the list
and for that I am very very sorry.

So, here is what I have done.

I have un-moderated the list for the time being. I will keep a very very close eye on things for the next while and if I see anyone going off topic
and ranting or slamming others on the list you will be sent an email and
asked to stop. If you refuse then you will be removed from the list and not
allowed to post.

I would also like to ask members of the list what they would think of
moving the list away from Freelists to Googlegroups where I have had a lot better luck in list control and actually things working. What do all of you
think?

  Again, my most sincerest apologies.

  Jeff Bishop
