Exactly!
I can use Speakup to copy paste within the Linux text consoles.
But I can't copy from the Linux console (guest OS) and paste it somewhere on
the host machine or vice versa.

Copy/paste in this discussion, I believe, refers to guest to host and host
to guest, not guest to guest and host to host.

Take care,

I thought the Vinux console was capable of using cut and paste using SpeakUp
key bindings. I think they are the slash (/) and star
(*)keys on the NumPad.

I use cut and paste all of the time between windows and Vinux gnome windows.

In a gnome terminal window, you will also need to hold down the Shift key,
such as Control + Shift + V, to paste. It also works
with files in the File Browser.
