Hi Brian,

Sorry for the late post.

The issue faced by Tyler and many others like him is that many of the new
computers, especially lap-tops, do not publish drivers for XP. That is the
main reason for caution.

Perhaps JAWS 9 or higher support Vista, but JAWS has been advertising that
they support Vista since JAWS 7. Not all of us have the cash to upgrade, and
are stuck with older versions of JAWS.

In summary, the concern is real and there is good reason for it. I am
willing to accept Ken's word for it that JAWS 9 supports Vista. He knows
what he is talking about. The thing is that if the money to upgrade JAWS is
not there, it doesn't really matter if JAWS 9 supports Vista or not.

Regards,
James

hi,

what do most blind people do to navigate life?
they find different ways to do something the sighted just look at visually.

Don't worry about what brand of computer.
compare the specs without thinking of what operating system unless 64 bit
is a factor.
if you find one you really like but it comes with vista, don't bitch, spend
about $65 to get a real copy of windows xp pro.
i wouldn't think i had to say this.
i don't know why people get hung up on worrying about modifying what they
buy.
