I would try reinstalling Norton, then go and get Revo Uninstaller from:
http://www.revouninstaller.com/.

install it, run it, and find Norton in its main window then hit the applications key and select uninstall. this will take you to a dialog where you can select the uninstall mode shift tab once, and make sure either the third or forth radio button is selected the third option reads: "Moderate - includes the Safe mode and performs an extended scan to find all of the application's leftover information in the
most common places of the Registry and on the hard drive"

this takes a bit longer, but has a good chance of removing those pesky registry files that Norton leaves behind messing up other anti-virus applications.

the 4th possibility is the best, but as it will say, is slower than the third, but will pull everything Norton has put on your computer out by the roots of its teeth (this is what I would use for Norton).

the other option is to go to Norton's website, and get the Norton un-installation tool, but this requires sighted assistance to use, or an account with Solona:
http://www.solona.net/learn/about.php
and some time.
