you're never going to get rid of AOHell, and everything. there are still chunks of the crap floating around in your hd. :) Also. before with gw you could use any xp cd, then install from their software and drivers cds. not no more.

That is the problem with buying proprietary boxes. part of the bios upgrades for the box are on the restore disk. That is why a retail disk won't work. The box needs the bulk disk for box configuration and then it installs. Best way is to do a install. then rip out the stuff you don't want, and make a back up of the system. then when you got a problem. you always got a fresh back up to install clean with everything. At 12:04 AM 2/1/2008, you wrote:Hello list, I just bought a system last year. Lucaklly for me... it is a gateway.I can use the OEM, but that requres me to install AOL, quicktime, bigfix, and 40 other progs. Anyone know if there is a solution to installing windows without everything? I've tried using a normal XP cd. It decided that it didn't want to recognize my hd. I'm going to work on an unattended kit, but I need to find something to burn the cd with--and hope gw decides to quit being uh $$$$$$$$ and let it work. Thanks, Tyler Littlefield Vertigo head coder."I can only please one person per day; Today doesn't seem like your day, and tomorrow doesn't look to promising either.""A life?
