Nod not only can you run it from a CD but I ran it from a CD and then
installed it with no problem once I was  sure I wanted it.  I like redhat
still but since Ubunto has a easier blind install I will play with it a
while.

an added note, as far as I have herd, there is a ubuntu that can be run from
a CD, so you do not have to install it to work with it.
