Thanks all: I will check out your recommendations. I am leaning twoard simply
using Facebook or one of the majors, twitter or whatever even though they have
accessibility issues. I don't know but the couple of sites I looked at for the
blind were not genuine social networking sites, more or less just a place for
blogs and forums with extremely low traffic. More traffic on this and other
blind programming e-lists, keeps me busy each morning - grin. Thanks for the
heads up. I did not want to reinvent the wheel and if Facebook and that twitter
thingy work then I can try them out before I go overboard again building
something that nobody will even want to use, sigh.
Thanks again all: Rick USA

  Hi,

I use FaceBook, but I use the Mobile site, which is http://m.facebook.com.
I'm on a couple of groups, but you have to use the "normal" FaceBook site for
that. I'd say that FaceBook is accessible, but not as usable as you might
desire. It's pretty cluttered. My daughter says it's even cluttered for a
sighted person to use. I just thought of one thing that I would say is not
accessible at least as far as I can tell. It's difficult for me to tell which
radio buttons I'm setting when I try to change my privacy settings.

Hi Guys and Girls: I was just looking at Facebook, sort of interesting but
read about accessibility issues. Anyway, Has anyone created a Social Networking
site where users can have their own pages so too speak? I saw a couple of so
called Social Networking sites for the blind, ya, a couple of blogs and Forums,
not exactly fun nor interesting to use. Any ideas or if you have one out there
let me know. I'd like to take a look at how it is built, the code in source
view would be some good relaxation reading.
