I agree with you. It's not practical to install Jaws on those machines. Besides installing Jaws video driver can cause problems that I've seen many times.
Many sysadmin tasks can be done remotely using windows admin tool. There are many msc console options can be utilized. Many tasks can be performed with script using WMI technology.
If the job needs to be done using RDT, only option I can think of is rudimentary MS Navigator.
Don't scratch the option yet. There are many reading keys hat you can use in Navigator.

I have purchased the remote access support for JAWS, and with it, I can run remote desktop on another machine. I have not actually done this, but I believe I understand the principles. As I understand it, generally speaking, in order to enable access to a remote desktop, JAWS also needs to be installed on that remote windows machine as well and then all works fine. If my understanding is correct, then so far so good. The problem I am dealing with is that I work in a support role as a database administrator for a relatively large company that has a complex computing infrastructure. In the production computing environment, there are many, many Windows boxes that I need to gain access to. Being production (vs development or test boxes), access to these boxes is highly controlled. It is not feasible to install JAWS onto dozens of production windows boxes to enable me remote access to do parts of my job. That just isn't going to happen. So I am wondering if others have run into this problem wherein remote access is needed to numerous other windows boxes but it is not possible to install JAWS onto those boxes? Are there other ways to gain access? Other tools? Other methods? Appreciate any ideas others may have.
