I'm definitely a hobbyist programmer, and still work with VB6, although I'm thinking seriously about upgrading to VS.NET 2008, After all, I'll want my programmes to work on later windows platforms after all the hard work over the years to produce my hobby programmes.
I'll need the help and support of those on the list and friends. Thanks to all. Geoff Smith Email: gc.smith@xxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Jared Wright" <wright.jaredm@xxxxxxxxx>

You're not a professional programmer? Begone, I say, begone! We'll ditch all the students and old dogs that don't keep up with new technology while we're at it! Of course, everyone on the lists' sarcasm detectors should be flashing violently. I'd stick around were I you, and I'd wager there're already a lot of subscribers to this list that fit the hobbyist programmer profile. However, I do enjoy programming as a hobby. Am I still welcome on this list, or are there more suitable ones for hobbyist programmers?
