Hi,

I have recently tried both Toad and Enterprise Manager and could not get around the gui. I have given up for now, but would be delighted to hear from anyone who has had more success than I had.

SQLPlus is accessible, but the output from a Select wraps around if the result is greater than the width of the screen. Even my sighted work colleagues say it is virtually impossible to interpret the output when this happens.

If you read the web sites of the makers of all of the above they will say that their software is accessible. They even have documents describing their VPATs, which are voluntary adherence to accessibility standards. Where is the independent verification????

If you don't know where you're going,
How will you know when you get there?

I access Oracle using sqlplus which is a command line client. It is accessible although it is not as friendly as mysql client for MySQL.

Subject: Oracle database facilities and screen readers

Hi all,

Is there anyone out there using a screen reader and doing Oracle DBA work successfully? I have heard from Oracle that their courses and tools are considered accessible. I am considering moving into that arena but wanted to see if anyone else had been successful with a screen reader or not.

Thanks.
