I personally use mingw and msys for the same thing. I find it more
accessible, but it's really two sides of the same coin.

Take care,

I'll put out a good word for cygwin. I can't imagine coding in
Windows without it. However, for desktop Linux, with a graphical
desktop and screen reader, Vinux is the way to go. I hear that VMware
is more accessible than VirtualBox on Windows, and I can verify that
the VirtualBox cockpit application is not accessible to the Orca
screen reader in Ubuntu Linux. I haven't tried the command line
version, though.
