Hello Octavian and list,I agree about ABBYY and I just learned that version 9 of ABBYY is available. There is a free 15 day download and it is reportedly 35 % more accurate than version 8. Sorry for the off topic message.Dennis----- Original Message ----- From: "Octavian Rasnita" <orasnita@xxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 4:38 AMSubject: Re: Is linex better than Windows? was Re: JFW keymap like orca keymap?Yes it could be, but until I hear that it it is at least as good as ABBYY Fine Reader, I don't bother to try it.Octavian----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hofstader" <chris.hofstader@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 2:29 PMSubject: RE: Is linex better than Windows? was Re: JFW keymap like orca keymap?I may be wrong but I think Project GNU has an OCR program and that googlemade their OCR available as free software as well. I have not tried either nor have I even spent the time to confirm their existence but, if they do infact exist, they shouldn't be too hard to find. cdh -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx[mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Daniel DaltonSent: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 7:45 PM To: blind programming Subject: Re: Is linex better than Windows? was Re: JFW keymap like orca keymap?
