I waited till after its drive stopped then did it and it worked perfectly.
Now if you're trying this on a computer that was built for pre- vista it may
not work. I was able to install vista and windows 7 without problems. Well
I take that back I did try to install this one vista machine that had multi
lingual support. There is an extra dialog before the narrirator will come
on on the multi lingual one. If I would have known that I could have got
around it but I did have to get a sighted person to see why it was not
working for me on that machine. I have installed 7 machines without trouble
though.

Do you have a legacy sound card in the computer on which you did that? Me
and a Windows Administrator couldn't get windows narrator to come up talking
on a computer with a motherboard sound card when we tried to install Windows
7 last year. In any case, at what point in time did you hit the app-u key
to bring up the utilities menu once the thing started booting? That Windows
admin has perfectly good eye sight too.

Um I install windows 7 fine with no screen reader just using narrirator. So
that is not true.

They need to do another mac vs. pc commercial. The commercial would show a
totally blind person alone with a mac and a pc. First the totally blind
person would start the install process for Snow Leopard on the mac. Then
the blind person would try to install any version of Windows on the PC
except for Windows 3.11. Since the blind person couldn't hear Windows
talking to them as the installation process went on, they'd take the PC and
throw it in the trash along with Windows and be back at the Mac to finish
the installation process so rudely interrupted by Microsoft Windows. That's
my opinion of any possible Microsoft defense and I'm sticking to it.

Um you call that a defense? A company that has over 100 accessibility
people couldn't put a phone out with access in it first? They freely admit
they screwed up they have no excuse not one. Apple on the other hand went
from nothing to much much better. The opposite is the case in Microsoft.

In microsoft's defence they know accessibility is something that needs
to be worked on for Windows Phone 7. According to the following
article it may take up to two years which is how long it took for the
iPhone to be accessible.
http://www.informationweek.com/blog/main/archives/2010/12/microsoft_incom.ht
ml;jsessionid=ZEWBTHKQSCWK5QE1GHPSKH4ATMY32JVN
While microsoft claims they dropped the ball I could see not holding
up a release as for accessibility as a valid business decision. If I
were a PR department I would never state so publically though and
screwing up sounds better then ignoring a small subset of users with
special needs in an effort to gain market share before it's to late.
