Thanks a lot for the warm welcome extended to me.
I am interested to learn java scripting, php and SQL.
In regard to desktop app programming, I am not sure which one to choose, as I know nothing about programming languages. Please, suggest me a language that will be easy to understand programming concepts and which will be a good starting point. What are the tools I would need in order to learn java scripting, php and my SQL?
Please, recommend resources for java scripting, php and my SQL .
Which is easy to understand and has some working examples.

Hello:
It's good to see you on list and with an urge to learn programming.

There are a few different languages worth learning, depending on what you want to do. First, if you want to learn more on the topic of web development, I recommend Javascript, html and php with a background in a database system such as MySQL. You can also learn python and use it to write applications for the web. PHP and Python would both be ran server-side; that is to say, the code will be ran on the server to perform specific tasks like validation of forms as well as registering users on database systems. Javascript would be used client-side.

If you would like to create desktop applications and you are looking for cross-platform (a program that will run on linux, windows and Mac for example), I recommend c++, Python, or Java. C++ and Java are a bit more low-level than Python, so you will have a lot more slack in terms of control. Python again is great for creating applications quickly.

If you are looking to create applications for Windows, I recommend c# (pronounced c-sharp). You can use the .net framework, which has a lot of utilities and functions to make things work at a higher-level. This means for you that you spend less time writing code if .net can support what you want, and thus you can develop with c# more quickly. For this reason, c# is known as a rapid-development language.

If you are looking to develop on OSX or IOS, you will need to learn objective c. This has always felt like the spawn of satan and c to me, so I can't elaborate there to much.

Hopefully the information I provided has given you a good starting point. If you choose a language, we can then recommend resources to help you get started as well as accessibility tweaks to make an IDE work better with jaws, for example.
