Hi Don,
I will join the Vinux list. That's probably better than cluttering up this list
like this message is doing.

1 Since many of the contributors to this project are in the UK, the UK keyboard
is usually selected by default. The keyboard and language for each user can be
selected at the login screen. Read that section in the Quick Start User’s
Guide (Alt + Control + q).

2. In the orca preferences, there is a combo box to change what is used as the
orca key. Press Insert (or CapsLock) + Space for laptop)to bring up the orca
preferences dialog. Use the Right Arrow key to get to the key bindings Tab.
Hitting Tab once places you in a combo box for what you want the orca key to
be. Just like in JAWS, use Space or Alt + Down Arrow (I usually use both to
make sure the combo box gets the focus and the Alt + Down to open the drop down
list. It should give you several options. Strangely, as I attempt this now,
this is a read only field, but I know I have changed it in the past! I will
ask on the friendly vinux-support list why this happens. .

Hi Don,
Maybe you can tell me the solution to these two issues.

First, when I have Vinux running, as in I am trying to use it, my right Alt key
does not fire. Second. Does Orca allow you to use two Orca keys? It seems that
when you are in the Desktop keyboard layout, it lets you use the Insert key,
and when you are in the Laptop keyboard layout, it lets you use the Caps Lock
key, but sometimes, you can get into some finger gymnastics with either setup.
If you can make it use both the Insert key and the Caps Lock key, that would be
good. But I'll be reading more about how to use the system tonight.

Thanks.

The small issue you had installing VMware was something VMware introduced to
the installer in Player 3.1 as I remember. The Product Manager claimed he
would restore it to it's previous full accessibility. Still waiting.

To get around this if using JAWS, just press JAWSKey + z, and you should be
able to Tab and have the buttons announced.

If the Alt keys were being announced as left alt or right alt, it sounds like
you have the UK Keyboard selected.

Perhaps we will make sure these things are mentioned in the quick start guide.

Glad you had a good experience!
