smile, yes I got a bit distracted, but I did have this flagged for priority and the resend, in fact I just hit it and was going to send it out when I came back in from having a cigarette, which I just now finished, lol

I have a few other places to send it as well, so will get it to the others.

In case anyone here is interested...

Well, here it is... The following is an excerpt about the HTML Kit for any
of those not familiar with the application

HTML-Kit
HTML Kit is a highly customizable development environment that can be used
to create, edit, preview, validate and publish web pages and text files.
Despite its name and the light download size, HTML-Kit 292 is a
multi-purpose tool that has support for several scripting and programming
languages.
Over 400 free plugins are available for customizing and extending HTML-Kit
to fit the way you work. Categories include ASP, CF, C#, iHTML, Java,
JavaScript,
JSP, Perl, PHP, Python, SQL and more.
Newcomers to web design can benefit from letting HTML-Kit point out errors
and provide suggestions on how to create standards-compliant pages.
Experienced
developers can save time spent on common tasks using the extensible
interface while maintaining full control over source code.
The supported version of HTML-Kit can be downloaded from:
http://gutterstar.net/html_kit.php

The HTML Kit Scripts for JAWS can be downloaded from:
http://gutterstar.net/mbrs/html_kit_scripts.php
If you would like to link to these scripts from your own site, please use the link above. I've added a comments section at the bottom of the script page where updates, discussion, feature requests, and bug notifications can be posted, and an optional email notification system so interested parties can be automatically emailed whenever new messages arrive... Which will be
important to announce future updates and releases as well.

Rather than repeat my own post describing the script details, please read the comments section to see this information, and what my hope is regarding
these scripts in the future.

Hi inthane, as you mentioned, if you could forward this to the blind
programming list as well, I'd appreciate it. This way I won't get hammered
for cross-list posting *smile*
Thanks,
Bryan

sounds like a plan

I'll pass this along to the programming blind list to see if anyone there
is
interested, smile.

No problem, I'll send through the download link when it's complete. I'll
have a download page to this effect on my site as well.

I'll be considering this thing open source, since the HTML Kit has so
many
features and capabilities, there's no way for me to keep up, or even be aware of everything it does. So if you developers out there would like to modify the scripts, I'd be happy to post updates using the same download
url. So just send me any updates that you would like to add, I'll add
your
name to the developer list on the site page and within the scripts, and
post
it.

It will be a couple of days, I believe I've got the highlighted text
working, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done. Any improvements
would
be appreciated if you feel up to it.

More news to come at any rate.

Take care,
Bryan

I wouldn't mind a set myself, and if one of you would the URL to this
kit?

I like to put things like this up on my grab bag site so folks can find them, or I will link to a download on your site, how ever you wish to do
it.

This is Charles Black. I request a copy of your scripts as soon as you
get
them working. Thanks!

No problem, the scripts are almost done, I just need to get the text
selection calls worked out, which why I've been asking about getting
selected text between screen coordinates.

I'll do a bit more on this tonight, and send a more detailed message
about
the script features and stuff later this week.

I plan to use this program myself, hence the interest. It looks very
useful
and has a ton of plug-ins.

We were asked to use HTML-Kit for one of our modules for the course
I'm
doing at university. Fortunately the lecturer(s) were happy for me to
use
Notepad as long as I knew the HTML coding which I fortunately did due
to
me
doing a similar low level course at further education. So the scripts
for
this program would be awesome too, however I won't have the time nor
the
commitment to write them myself due to university studies. So when
they're
available please share and I'll be happy to test them.

I must admit that I am stumped on this one. This appears to be an
awesome
free HTML editor, with tons of features and possibilities, the link
is
http://www.htmlkit.com/
One gigantic problem though, the menus are completely inaccessible...
I
tried writing scripts to make the menus for this HTML editor
accessible,
but there doesn't appear to be anything to grab on to.
Are there any awesome scripters out there who would like to take up
the
challenge of making it possible to use the arrow keys to navigate the menus? You will truly go down as a personal hero to me... I'll clear
a
space on my wall, and hire a professional engraver to build a plaque
in
your honor, and I'll mount this forever more, with dangling bells to
draw
people's attention to the truly awesome person that I can prove you
are...
All the best,
Bryan
