Re: Follow-up on cursor issue in VS.Net 2008 with jaws 12.0.1158

This is puzzling. The scripts do not seem to override the default SayCharacter, SayNextCharacter, or SayPriorCharacter scripts, so off hand, I do not know why the behavior would be different when arrowing by character with the PC cursor as compared to the default scripts.

Ok, it doesn't seem there's a way to bind the PC cursor to the jaws cursor, so
aside from scanning through text with jaws cursor and then routing PC cursor to
it, seems that type of workaround won't work to get the PC cursor to in fact
move left/right one character at a time when editing my C# code, and the only
thing I did try was taking the msenv=msenv2005
entry out of the ConfigNames.ini file to see how it acted when using FS's own
scripts, and it then does move left/right one character at a time, so it would
seem to be something to do with the decent scripts interacting a bit
differently with some or other aspect of this combo of jaws 12, windows7 32
bit, screen resolution of 1280x1024, etc. etc., but really not sure what's
causing it - bit irritating is all.

The fact is also that if I hold in shift key, to sort of select text, then it does in
fact only move one character at a time, so I suppose could also try using that as a
form of workaround - move 2 characters past where I actually want to be, and then
move back once without holding in shift key...<smile>

Off-hand, does anyone know what jaws script event might be being fired when I
move PC cursor left/right with arrow keys?

That might let me look into tracking down the issue since it does seem to be
related to that somehow.

Stay well
