Eclips is accessible but if he thinks you can use the virtual android phone to develop on good luck. Have him install all the access stuff and it might help otherwise your programming blind. That not impossible but it's always fun to debug. It reminds me of when I wrote a graphical slot machine in the early days of Java for one of my programming classes I couldn't play the game but I got an 'A'.
