Drupal question.

Folks,
I know there are a few Drupal developers on this list. Would anyone have an
idea why a module would install and work fine on a local test server, and
completely bomb on the production one?
The module in question is the Views module, and when I install the Views UI
component, I simply get a Fatal error. I can recover the site by removing
various references and tables from the Mysql database, but I haven't a
notion why it is doing this.
Any thoughts welcome.
