Hi Guys: OK the alt space followed by e and p worked...I noticed that after th4e alt space the e was to bring up an editor. Oh ya, it dropped the word mark on the command line. What is all this jazz? Do you know of what I could read up on to get familiar with this editor and the other entries in that context menu? I think knowing this stuff might be a good thing if I am going to have to work with stuff like this. I still hate the command line but perhaps I can tune it up by setting properties or something. Do you have any keywords for googling to find out some good bedtime reading on this subject?

Hi Rick,As Jackie said, the tab key will do autocomplete. So use the cd command incrementally to get to the folder containing sn.exe. That is:1 Type cd followed by the first few letters of the first element of the path then tab. This will complete the first part of the path and include quotes correctly. 2 Type enter which will move your current working directory slightly. Type cd if you want to see the cwd. 3 Continue typing cd followed by the first few letters of the next element of the path, followed by tab then enter. 4 When you have got to the folder containing sn.exe, you can invoke it by just typing sn.exe. You will stay in that folder until you start to cd again.hth, Martin----- Original Message ----- From: "RicksPlace" <ofbgmail@xxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 2:50 PM Subject: CommandLine PathHi: In Windows XP I am trying to execute sn.exe which is in a long file path with spaces. I tried typing cd and then pasting the path enclosed in quotes into the command window but the paste does not seem to be working - nothing is being pasted. Is there some way to navigate around the command structure without having to type everything all the time? I am thinking of copy and paste, a batch file or a script or anything that I can use over and over without typing my fingers to the bone. I don't know whether to try building a batch file or script or whatever to just execute this program and others. If you have one, a sample would help allot so I can research the technicals you used.Rick USA __________View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
