  I like this one:

                  C# 3.0 in a Nutshell, Third Edition

                  By: Joseph Albahari; Ben Albahari

                  Publisher: O'Reilly Media, Inc.

                  Pub. Date: September 26, 2007

And, I believe there may be a newer version for 3.5 or 4.0.

"Nutshell" makes it sound like it might be somewhat simple-minded, but it
definitely is not. I have a safari online book account, and I know it is
available there, but I'm not sure where else you can find it.

All of e-books naturally introduce visual studio at first. But at following
parts they tells c#. I have my c# archive. If you want, I can send you.
Therefore, you look the contents section and find things you desire exactly.

    Hi,

Does anyone know of a C# book that just talks about the language, but not
about the VisualStudio environment?

    Thanks.

    Jim
