No your missing the point go read the patents the type of metal is actually
a rare earth metal and has regulations to who can buy and use it. That is
one reason everyone is trying to make a new cheaper display.

Well know a few machine shops that don't care what product is they 
just build, and use any metal you want.
My brother was a good one in that field of special products. See all 
a shop needs are the blueprints and list of materials you want it made of.
yes, all parts are made by hand, but most shops give you discounts if 
you have all sold made by them.
i can prove that all parts, labor and design in a braille display 
don't come up to there $5000 and $6000 price tag. That tag is priced 
like that because only a blind person is going to use it, and they 
know they can get that money form orgs! if those orgs where not 
buying the equipment. That price wouldn't be like that and you know it!
