Hi,

Yes same here. I think I had the latest version and I couldn't get anywhere
with it. Is there a version that's more accessible then others? This was
about 2 months ago when I last tried.

Hmm, last time I tried Zone Alarm it appeared to be not accessible at all. I

couldnt' even configure even the basics of settings. Has this now changed?

no, your correct, but there is still plenty of useable information, and
software there, smile, it's just a case of whether or not you will need to
update it as in the case of AVG, or if it still works fine, as with copy
path.

the firewalls are older, but they work, and one can try the home website for

each to see if there is an accessible updated version.

and now I know that zone alarm is accessible again so will be adding it to
my list of possible, though I didn't like the thing myself the last time I
tried it, though that was quite a while back I will admit.

take it easy,
inthane

Hi inthane -- I thought jfwlite.com was no longer being maintained -- or
has someone picked it up?
In any event, some of the stuff on there is a bit out of date.
If it is being maintained again, please excuse this message.

    hi Jim,

most of the more useable ones are listed on jfwlite.com in there
programs section, along with old, but still helpful hints in there help
files section.

spybot, ad aware and those listed there all work well from what I hear,
I use ad aware for the main part, and the free version to boot, and haven't
had much it didn't find.

firewalls, there are two older ones you can get from there, I just use
the windows stock one myself, but that's my choice, and may not be the best
as far as that goes.

I also recommend a program called win patrol, which monitors an
assortment of things, gives you active and accessible control over them, and

will alert you to anything trying to make changes in your registry and/or
file associations on your comp, and there is both a free and a expanded pay
for version of it (again I'm using the freebee and doing fine with it)

    HTH,
    inthane
