Excelent advice. I’d like to add that partial lines still works, all what needs
to be done is to modify the minmum and last tested nvda supported version from
the manifest.

A few tricks from me.
1. How to deal with timestamps. I wrote phonetic punctuation add-on for NVDA
specifically to deal with timestamps (well and other things too). You can
construct a regexp for your specific timestamp and replace it with a short
auditory icon. Or you can actually even use NVDA's own built-in dictionary to
replace timestamps with some short word.
Another way to deal with timestamps was partialLines add-on, but I believe it's
no longer maintained and doesn't work with the latest versions of NVDA. I might
revive it at some point if I have time.
2. Finding exceptions. This of course depends on your language; I mostly deal
with Python and Java, and they print indented exception stacktraces. So you can
use my IndentNav add-on for NVDA to quickly find indentation changes and jump
between stacktraces.
3. If there is any other string that you need to search frequently in log files
- perhaps your language doesn't print indented exceptions, then you can
configure QuickSearch feature of my Tony's enhancements add-on for NVDA. It
allows you to configure a regexp that you need to find frequently and then you
can jump to the next/previous occurence of that regexp in the file with a
single keystroke. This tends to save me a lot of time as well. You can also be
creative as to what strings you search for. For example, I configured Python
function definition to be one of such regexps, and now I can quickly jump
between function declarations in any Python file.
