What a cool idea! So you basically mean emulating the hardware synthesizer
in software, right? That would make a lot of sense, and it doesn't even
require using a screen reader that sounds like crap (lol). I think I'm
actually gonna try that. I've worked with speech libraries before
(libespeak on Linux and SAPI on Windows, not to mention the NVDA controller
client DLL). And although I've never worked with TCP directly before,
that's one of the many networking topics I've been meaning to learn about
anyway. Thanks for the awesome suggestion!

Dosbox can direct a serial port to a tcp connection. It shouldn't be too
hard to write a hardware synthesiser that listens to a tcp port and uses a
software tts for output.

Yes, I know this is ridiculous, but I'm into retro tech and didn't know
one of these newer MS-DOS emulators? I read there was a "JAWS for DOS"
back in the day, but also read that you had to have a hardware synthesizer,
so I'm guessing that's out.
