I’ve erased my disk last Monday, and installed Mac OS Big Sur 11.1.
It seams to solve crashing issues.
I’ve faced a single crash since then. When I run a command that produces a
large output, it mostly does not crash, but it crashed a single time out of 5
times or so and worked 4/5 of the times.
It may be because of not shutting my Mac for 2 days now.
Thank you so much,
Regards,
Mohamed E. Fayed

Before reinstall, have you tried the terminal commands with another user

Hi Mohamed,
I also hope you are well!
I have been using 11.1 at work in the past months and I never noticed
problems with Terminal, and I had to use it frequently to make maven builds
and use Docker.
Does it happen all the time or only with certain commands?
Regarding fixing the issues I don't know what you would have to do :/
Hope you find a fix without erasing everything
Good luck :)

Hi,
Hope my mail find you well,
Almost since updating to Mac OS 11.1 till now, I’m facing very frequent
terminal crashes. If I do some commands, I knew them by the time, it just
crashes. I can’t work without these commands.
Anyway, I wonder whether someone else here faces the same issues in order
to know whether I need to reinstall the system or not.
Another question, to fix such issues, to I need to erase my main drive, and
reinstall Mac OS?!
Thank you so much,
