John:

I sent an article to the list early last week with a link to the subject you
are asking about.

It should be on the list archive.

Subject: [program-java] Status of Java with Apple

What is the current status of Java with Apple. I understand that they will no
longer bundle Java with their operating system. Will they provide a free
download of a third-party program for those who need it, or must one download
from the third-party site directly? Is it tre that Apple has jouned the Openjdk
group?

Thanks,
John
