Jim:

Ok, I guess it's up to you if you want your notes to be version specific. I'm
using 3.3 and have no option to use anything greater.

Hi,
My version of Eclipse, 3.6, takes you to the first line of a method whether you
press in the upward direction or the downward direction, except when the method
is the last one in the file. If you hit the downward direction key, it places
you outside the right brace. And when you are placed at the top of a method
when you move in either direction, the cursor lands on the method name itself.

I'm back and in a fairly good mood so here goes.... Perhaps the numbering is
off but I'll let Jim H. sort that out.

7. CTRL + Shift Up Arrow.

I use this option frequently while reviewing a method. Let's say that we are in
the middle of the method and forget what the signature might be, evoke this
combination and it will return you to the actual method signature.

8. CTRL + Shift Down Arrow.

This is handy but doesn't really follow the previous example as one would
think. Again if you are in the middle of a method and want to move to the
bottom, evoke the combination and you will be moved to the bottom of that
method. However, you are placed actually out side of that method and it can be
tricky to keep track.

9. CTRL Q.

This is handy but can get you into trouble quickly if you don't keep track of
your location. This combination will return you to the last place of editing.

10. F3.

I find this really handy if you need to actually review a method where it was
originally implemented. Place your cursor on that method invocation, press F3
and you are placed directly on the implementation of that method. You can
reverse the navigation by holding down the ALT key and pressing the Left Arrow
key.
