The mixer is working fine.  The left side ground wire is apparently split, so
the part going into the turntable wasn't connected to the side going into the
mixer.  They just had to be twisted together.  I did that, and it's working
normally again.  Ess Oh Ess es no mas...

hey guys,
during my show tonight I got a terrible amount of background hiss and fuzz
whenever I used the two lines connecting to the phono (one for my iPod and one
for my laptop). I tried playing with the levels, and tried switching the cables
to different outlets. nothing seems to decrease the static, so I'm thinking
it's a problem with the whole device as opposed to something channel-specific.
Mike tells me some other folks have had this problem too?

Wouldn't it be much worse if life _were_ fair, and all the terrible

things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So now I
take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the
universe.
