[powerdot] narrow dvi display

Hello,
I use yap (from MikTeX 2.7) to preview slides,
before preparing the final version with dvips/ps2pdf.
The first time I compile, everything works OK,
but when I modify some text and re-compile,
many of the slides have about 30% of their
width cut from the right hand side.
This happens even with plain vanilla "wideslide"s.
