Yahoo John! The anonymous stuff always bothers me. I had done some checking on that photo too - all to dead ends but you just gave me a lot of new ways to research things like this. A related issue that bothers me a lot is the difficulty of protecting photos from being stolen from my blog. As funny as it is, I am not too worried about my own photos; I am more worried about the ones I buy because I figure most of those photographers are trying to make a living by their photography or at least have it as a side business. I buy a lot of the images at places like 123rf and istockphoto so the photos do not have a watermark - which is the way I want them. However, I also notice that when I check my blog stats many people come to my site via google images and I am sure that many of those folks are lifting the images. Someone suggested putting a clear gif over the photos and I might try that when I move my blog over to a new host (self-hosted wordpress). Attributions for those photos? I would love to do attributions but on most of the sites all you get is a username and I simply do not have the time to research who those people really are. It is hard enough for me to make time to blog; never mind research the photographer's name when it is hard to find. Viv Ilo E.
