Hello friends, and big hello to Gabby from Georgia. I went to middle school
and high school in Marietta, Georgia. I miss the scent of pine trees on
humid days (though eucalyptus is pretty nice) and rafting down the
Chattahoochee (do people still do that or is it awfully polluted?). I even
miss kudzu.

Here's my offering (another dog poem, how bizarre!) It's the first poem I've
written in quite a while that hasn't felt forced - not to say it's working
or anything - so thanks Mike for ensuring I persist. I keep telling myself
now's a great time to get back to writing poetry (I've been focusing
intensely on prose, Gabby, for a few years now) but wanting to hasn't
translated into feeling it. I really  need a little push with a good amount
of regularity thrown in. I can aim for 6 weeks of this. (My quick bio for
Gabby: I write poetry, novels and lyric essays and I even have a book out in
the US, which makes me very happy J)

Just curious - we all seemed to respond to Mike's message with new emails,
so no thread. Do we want to respond in this way for each new poem and then
press reply-all when commenting on the poem to create its own thread? So
each poem has its own life, a dedicated space? It seems like a good way to
do it, and perhaps we're already doing it, but since Mike did the Andy
Jackson thing maybe he has a better way to structure this.

Hope you all are keeping safe and staying calm. Rachael, you sound very busy
- look after your tender self. And Mike, I hope your son is still able to
visit you? I'm sure it's tricky and not ideal.

Love to you all,

Heather
