Ascom Powerline contributes to worldwide BPL standard As a member of UPA (Universal Powerline Association) Ascom is actively participating in the process of specifying a worldwide BPL standard, which would be a part of Ascomâs second generation PLC system. UPA is an international non-profit organization. It has been founded to set parameters for a catalyzed growth of powerline technology. The global focus of this organization is to reach an industry standard for both, access and in-home applications, as well as the co-existence of both systems. Telkonet, Inc. (Amex:TKO - News) addressed the status of its pending domestic and international product certifications. In September 2004, Telkonet began the process to obtain certification of its products as suitable for use in government and military applications. In connection with this process, Telkonet has timely submitted all information required and has diligently pursued certification of its products. PowerLinx, Inc. (OTCBB:PWLX) announced issuance of an additional patent for its portfolio. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued Patent Number 6,842,519, "Communication with Current Detection," on January 11, 2005. The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners
(NARUC)

Formed in December 2003, NARUC's task is to "explore the potential for
deployment of Broadband over Power Lines and, in particular, the State
commission role in advancing use of this technology"

NARUC has recommended that the State commissioners take the time to learn
about BPL technology, its trials, deployments, successes and failures.

"For over a year, since its inception in 2003, the National Association of
Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Broadband over Power Lines (BPL)
Task Force has been meeting to examine the State commission role in
advancing the use of BPL technology. Today, the Task Force held an
information session to discuss the preliminary results of its meetings as
outlined in a 42-page report released this afternoon. A summary overview of
that report as well as how to obtain a copy from the Internet is on the

REPORT: BROADBAND OVER POWERLINE (BPL) POISED TO BOOM IN 2005?

WASHINGTON, D.C.//News Advisory//2005 could be the year in which broadband
over powerline (BPL) services in the United States will experience marked
increases in both deployment in key markets and technological innovation.
Experts will discuss a New Millennium Research Council (NMRC) report
exploring the opportunities and challenges for BPL in order to spur further
debate about the future of the technology.

The NMRC report will be released during a live, phone-based news conference
at 1:30 p.m. EST on February 24, 2005.
