Lots of Powerline News in April.
Powerline has truly been in the news this April.

VOIP and POWERLINE:
---------------------
Have you used your Powerline with VOIP yet?
V.O.I.P. Voice Over Internet Protocol
With the convenience of high speed Internet, it
is now possible to run your phones through the
Internet.
We have been experimenting with one VOIP company:
http://championcommunications.net/cromer
We purchased three (3) VOIP LinkSys boxes.
Each box has an ethernet input, and two phone outputs.
Each box can have two individual phone lines.
Using our network, we hooked up the phones this way:
1. Our Internet cable connection to the modem.
2. The modem to the LinkSys adapter.
3. The phone plugs in to the adapter and dialtone!
Here is the advice we want to share.
We ran the phones into the building network.
Powerline modules work just fine as long as there
is an ethernet input on the system.
We sent the modem signal throughout the building.
We plugged in three boxes, however, only one
phone line would work.
IMPORTANT: When using more than one VOIP phoneline
you will have to add a router (not a switch) to your
network AFTER the modem. This will allow for the
single IP address to be assigned sub-addresses.
Each VOIP box needs a distinct IP address to work.
Now they all worked! VOIP works great on a network.
Our phone bill is cut by nearly two-thirds with
all calls in the U.S. and Canada now free.
International calls are also easily done and
one added bonus, we can take our VOIP box with us
anywhere, hook up to the internet and make free calls!
Use Powerline to spread the signal and broaden your
broadband usage.
