trying to figure out how to use the app itself.  The
"WordCountService" is suppose to be a 'dynamic service'.  From
the manual:

Provide as a Mac OS X Service makes the app register as a
Dynamic Service, accessible from the Services submenu of
   application menus.

A link is also provided to this article:

If I double click the app, it starts up and exits.  I tried
selecting text in various apps, like Terminal and Safari, but the
WordCountService app never shows up as an available service in
the Service menu.  So I seem to be missing some crucial step.

This has intrigued me - I've not used this feature of Platypus before.

In looking over the instructions for setting up the WordCountService
app, in my Platypus (5.1)the window under 'Suffixes' is blank and not
active. The '+/-' buttons are grayed out so I cannot add a file
extension, even though 'Accept dropped text' is checked.

I'm stuck as well.
