At last night's chapter meeting, Joshua Hodge summarized a recent meeting he
attended with the Chickasawhay WMA staff. It included some recent changes
to staff there including the overall Ranger-in-charge and the wildlife
biologist responsible for the area. One of the responsibilities for the
wildlife biologist is managing the Red-cockaded Woodpecker colonies within
the WMA. Joshua reported that the new biologist invited PWAS members to
assist in this process. While details for this offer have not been clearly
worked out yet, Joshua noted that anyone interested in finding out more (or
volunteering to help) should contact the biologist directly. Here is his
