But DO REMEMBER that the compiler enters CBC information through a separate
“portal” to Audubon. So, the compiler still needs the species and individual
counts, party members, miles driving (if birding by car), miles walking, time
driving (if birding by car), time walking, and total time in the field for each
party.
To date, I have all but 2 tallies – a promised tally from the Hattiesburg Zoo
personnel and a tally from the area with North Lagoon, Convention Center, and
Tom Rhea Phillips property.
Based on the data I have to date, we have 96 identified species plus 5
individual counts where the exact species was not identified (for example,
Greater/lesser Scaup, Dowitcher sp., Buteo sp., etc.).
This is the best species count since 1999. Thanks to all who participated.
