[phpa] A Google Warning

Firstly apologies for the almost entirely off topic post, but something I
consider worthy of a mention as presumably most members here are site admins
and this could affect any of you in the future.

As you're probably aware, I switched to a different machine to host the PHP
site, and carefully managed the transition such that there would be zero
service disruption to the site or emails. As fas as I could tell, this
worked perfectly.

However, the Google listing suffered. Google understandably cache IP's for
the sites that they spider, but judging by news posts that I've read since,
this may be forever, and as they don't respond to emails, I have to assume
that's the case.

GoogleBot will thus spider the incorrect IP address, and once the site goes
from the old IP, so, ultimately, will the Google entry.

So all rather irritating, and something that I wanted to highlight as a
potential issue for anyone planning or having to make a change of server IP.

Please don't respond to this in the forum, (I will setup VBulletin
sometime!), but any emails to me on a solution would be welcome :-) From
what I can tell, however, there isn't one.

nick
