I've found very similar problems to you both with Photodesk 3.09 on a RPC
running 4.02.

Most of them have been solved by disabled TwainPDIF as Bernard suggested. I
then scan using DPIngscan and transferring the files over to PD for
processing. The tools within PD certainly seem much faster now than in
earlier versions.
