Gaaakkk! Yes, it's handled in the next release. What I'm gakking about though, 
is that there is a plugin included in the file module distribution which is a 
patch for this problem. However, I just realized that while I sent it out to 
all existing registered users when I released it a few months ago, I never 
mentioned it when sending the file modules to new registrants. I'm sorry!

uploads due to your PHP installation being configured register_globals off. If 
you need this patch, put the file fileprep.php in your plugins directory, and 
add the following line to the registry file there:
