For the record, a user on the mailing list made an excellent point: 

"One issue to be aware of using buttons - many users just hit return when they 
have completed a form. This will submit to the first button listed in IE, as 
viewed in html." 

Opera and NS now behave in this manner, as well. 

He recommended using a dropdown or radio button, an approach which I would 
second.
