  MESSAGE: (#2294) Question Regarding Application

I have a website that is a directory of schools. So far, I've been using a
CGI/Perl script that basically just forwards the entries to my e-mail and then
I enter the info by hand. I know, very time-consuming, but I want to keep a
close eye on the entries so that I don't get a lot of junk.

I have MySQL thru my server and can use PHP. From the looks of Phorm, it would
give me a lot more freedom. I'm thinking that I can use it to replace the CGI,
but also to e-mail the entry back to the submitter along with a nice
personalized confirmation screen. Also have it forward the info to MySQL,
where I can either cut-n-paste the info to a page or use the page to pull the
info from the database and place it in a template page.

Does this sound plausible? And how would I go about it?

Are there any free scripts out there that could be configured to pull the info
from the database, or will I need to get someone to write a custom script for
this application.

I'm not a programmer or anything, but am I on the right track here?

Any suggestions of a better way are also welcome.
